Policies and Procedures to Combat Coronavirus (COVID-19)

City Pulse Acupuncture has adopted the strictest safety procedures and protocols due to COVID-19.

Masks remain mandatory at all times, regardless of vaccination status.

All of our staff members are FULLY vaccinated and boosted and wear KN-95 masks at all times.

Pre-appointment screening questionnaires are sent to every patient. These questionnaires are mandatory and must be completed before entering our clinic: The questionnaire includes screening for COVID-19 symptoms as follows:

  • New cough*
  • New shortness of breath*
  • New fever, or feel feverish (100.1 oF or greater)
  • Fever within the past two days: Please do not consider yourself fever-free unless your temperature has been normal for two days without the use of fever-reducing medication (e.g. Tylenol, Ibuprofen Advil, etc.)
  • New chills, or repeated shaking with chills
  • New fatigue*
  • New sore throat*
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • New nasal congestion*
  • New muscle aches that are not caused by specific activity such as exercise*
  • New diarrhea
  • Close contact with someone suspected/known to have COVID-19 in the last 10 days.

*cannot be attributed to another health condition

We require anyone to wait 10 days from the onset of the above COVID-19 symptoms AND be symptom-free for 24 hours before coming in for an appointment.
All staff is self-screened before coming in each shift. All staff and patients are required to remove footwear, wash hands or use provided sanitizer when entering the center.

Unvaccinated clients must test 3-5 days after flying AND stay home and self-quarantine for a full 7 days after travel.

Fully vaccinated + boosted (if most than 6 months post 2nd shot) clients flying must test 3-5 days after arriving.

All patients are required to wear a mask at all times. If you do not have one, we will provide one.

All staff will wear KN-95 masks at all times, clean scrubs, and hair tied back.

We are asking all patients to avoid bringing guests (including partners), unless physical assistance is needed. Small children are an exception if childcare is not available.

We have extended appointment times to minimize any unnecessary in-person interaction between patients and to sanitize and disinfect the office between patients. We ask that you arrive no more than 5 minutes before your appointment time in order to avoid crowding in the waiting room.

We complete stringent sanitization and disinfection of every room after each patient. This includes using EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant on tables, chairs, and counters. We sanitize all high touch areas including door handles and light switches. At all times we have HEPA with UV light air filters and air nebulizers running. The HEPA filters are in each treatment room and the reception area, and filter room air 4.5x per hour. After each patient, the filter is left running on high before the next patient enters the room.

We will use your card on file or e-mail an electronic invoice for your appointment and any products purchased.

All of our acupuncturists have tested through and follow the Council of Colleges of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine’s (CCAOM) Clean Needle Technique (7th Edition – February 2020). This includes best practices for acupuncture needle safety and related procedures.
